Mummys and Museums

Today we had the day off at school for New Years, so we spent the day at Santo Domingo, which is an incredible hotel/museum/art gallery/archaelogical dig dating back to the 1600s when the Domincans ran the place during the Spanish domination. Below you'll see a variety of pictures from the day. My only comment really, is that it has just been such a cool blessing to hang out together and share life. Santo Domingo was cool because we got to share our love for art and culture with Lily, and she thought it was really special that she got to do something so "grown up" as see a museum with mom and dad (: She was a little freaked out by the crypts and bones, but she was much more at home in the art gallery.

Back to school tomorrow, a few comments below (:

Nighty night, Love Lori

Can you imagine being married here!?
Husband and wife...not even death do us part...right Brett?
Posing with the mummy, our scared faces

Tales from the crypt, with Lori and Lily
She insisted on calling everything "Egyptian" because of her Christmas play with Egyptians in it. No matter how much we tried to explain that these were Mayan ruins and not Egyptian...she kept asking questions about Egyptians. So this is her Egyptian pose in a crypt.

 Scared face with the corpse
Ladies and gentleman, we have a poser on our hands. Who would've thought...
Dancing...I hope the Minnie Mouse ears aren't lost on anyone. I mean, who really needs Disney World anyways?
Our little angel

Family nap time in our tiny twin beds. Not gonna lie, I gave up after about 5 minutes...I always lose in the battle for bed space with these two!!!
Our night stroll gave us a stunning view of Volcan Agua
